Interview with Gianluca Genoni

Gianluca Genoni wins his first world record in 1996, reaching the proportion of -106 meters in its regulated variable. The following year, beat his own record by tapping -120 meters. On 2 and 3 October 1998 the sample signature in Porto Ottiolu double world record in freediving of descent: -121 meters in its variable and regulated – 135 meters in its absolute variable. The event gave the the name of “the deepest man in the world”, no one had ever dared groped two records in such a short interval of time.

Since 1996 Genoni has set 14 world records, the last on 5 October 2006, reaching – 141 meters in the regulated variable. In 2008, record of static apnea with 18 minutes and three seconds.

For several years six headmaster for the school apnea PSS in your opinion are members increased compared to the courses the past few years?
Than when I started I do apnea, about 20 years ago, enrolled in courses apnea had an exponential increase, which now appears to be stabilizing.

What people today recommend a course of apnea?
An apnea is being recommended to all those who love the sea: Pure authority or the fisherman who wants to improve its performance, the person who wants to learn to relax and at the same time do some training exercise.

Not hardly navigate on the internet, use it only for work.

You are writing on Facebook? What do you think?
I am writing to Facebook, I think it is a tool to know “virtually” a lot of people, every day I get many friend requests especially sports, divers, fishermen.

What do you enjoy reading?
Newspapers and during the holidays I like to read books of adventure.

Listen to music before you dive?
When I train and I do particularly challenging dives for estranged listening music, relax and find the right concentration. Almost always listening to the songs of Vasco Rossi.

How can you prevent, you believe, the numerous accidents that occur each year in the sea especially during the summer?
We hope that accidents are not so numerous. To prevent them we must first go into the water again in a couple with diving buoy marks and above all know what goes against it exaggerates the benefits apnea. We say that attending a good course will begin in the best possible way.

Many divers are subject to have trouble clearing, you can give some advice?
One of the limits on the descent apnea is the compensation, which is very subjective and depends on how it was prepared. Go in the water frequently, to refine the technique and remain calm and quiet in-depth help much.

Attend a course in Yoga aid for divers?
Mental relaxation and breathing are just part dell’apnea, but before you understand the importance of these techniques need to refine the technique and be trained physically.

Training for a record today, are the same as those of yesteryear?
More or less, although the depth has changed dramatically and therefore the preparazine and care becomes more complicated.

You often have the question of whether fish in apnea and your answer I think is: “I have never contested a rifle underwater”; second your opinion would be useful for a fisherman diving attend a course of apnea? If you are why?
Not quite the right word; many years ago I sent under the gun with issues to do with a deep snapper has never taken anything and making a fatigue Executioner I decided that was not my specialty. Attend a course need to learn the techniques down, understand what are the dangers, train in the pool in winter.

One last question, you plan something new always related to your business? record, or other events?
I stopped by the after-record 141m in its variable 2006 in Sharm. Now I train, I make tests with Dan, performing a ‘everywhere for sponsors. Events and courses I have planned many a po ‘ovunque.
